Common Errors and/or Crashes Section

I tried to do something about it, but what is really happening is
. you conquer the city
. the religion spreads there
. you raise the city

The messages are just reaching you in the wrong order. :(

Can the religion spread be pushed back until say, the city comes out of Occupied Anarchy? Then if it's razed, that won't ever happen.

That would involve keeping track of who conquered the city, across save/load. I often get rid of cities I conquer, to a vassal, before they get out of anarchy, so should it be my state religion or my vassals?

If you find it really annoying you can turn it off. Edit Caveman2Cosmos.xml in Assets/Config and remove the line containing onCityAcquired.

I hadn't thought about that scenario as I almost never give mine away-- "keep or raze, let it be a lesson to the others!" :mischief:

It's not a big deal though.
 
All the Asatru wonder movies don´t show up, just a blank screen. :sad:
Thankfully it doesn't crash, hit return and go on works fine. :p

And there's still some land feature available on sea tiles. :confused:

My fault, I put them in the pak file forgetting that dds movies don't play from there. It is not urgent enough to fix before the v18 release since it doesn't break the game so I will put the fix in for v19.

Which version do you use? On SVN or V18 the PerfectMongoose problem should be fixed.

3 Non repeatable CTDs by turn 17, 11320BC. On all have went back to closest autosave and resaved the Auto in Max C. Can then play on thru the turn that CTD'd before the autosave.

Either standard autosave is affecting the game now or there is some kind of collision going on between Max C and Std Autosave. Otherwise this is impossible to pin down.

I have continued to play thru and am saving every 4-5 turns. currently @ turn 10880BC.

Very frustrating.

I still don't understand how that inconsistency happens but I was able to reproduce it and pushed a change to the SVN that should fix it hopefully.

If this is for v18, i dont understand, i just downloaded a copy directly from Atomic Gamer myself, and put it on Auto play for 209 turns WITHOUT any adverse conditions on a PerfectMongoose Mastery Victory Conditions so all are included and no errors, CTD's, no loss of turn times, absolutely nothing wrong??

I guess perhaps game options? Try that with the same game option Joseph uses (or from his save game if he posts one).
 
Hardware/drivers are also a possibility too for crashes. Just saying. :)
 
V18 fresh from Atomic gamer this morning.

Also is screenie of most of my Options.

Most likely you will open this save that crashed as soon as I hit end turn (little red button), and it will run just fine for you all.

Also most likely I will be able to go back and reload it and be able to continue to play. This will continue until I hit late medieval era and around 500AD to 700AD it will then hard crash were I can't get past it. At least thats been the pattern.

And yes, I Always remove the Old version in the Bts/Mods folder before I ever paste in the new.

I'm tired and frustrated as ****.

Edit: it's now turn 74, I have saved 17 times and had 8 CTds so far. Every time, so far, I can reload and play on for another 9-11 turns before it does it again. I'm saving game ~ every 3-4 turns now. Saving every turn or even every other is a Pain.

I even reduced my Graphics settings to 1360 X 1024 from my normal 1680 x 1200. I also tried Reducing the Graphics to Medium and Anti-Aliasing from 2 to 4. Does not matter. Just makes the game look a bit blurry.

Ps I didn't respond earlier because I've been out On Call for the last 6 hrs digging up cut Catv cables and trying to repair them. It's what I do. :p

Edit2: Started New game by turn 7 the 1st CTD. :sad:

Edit3: I thought you guys "Fixed" the neander Spawn??? All my new games are on Marathon and look at the screen shot! It's Broken again! And it's worse the farther I pan out. I could spit nails right now. :mad: I don't know if I can take this much longer.:cry:
 
Yesterday version 17 on standard size with 10 civs including me would work. Today version 18 won't work at all everytime I start a game I have a strange graphical error where all the graphics are invisible, but I am able to see the terrain. Any ideas?

Sounds like you accidentally hit the toggle button above the mini map that does just that.

OK i put it on autoplay for up to mid-medieval era, and no problems what so ever??
