Communism, Capitalism, or Socialism, and why? Let the debate begin.
What are we supposed to debate? I don't get it.
Since Communism fails, Capitalism is the default state, and Socialism hasn't actually been tried, none.
Your supposed to debate what government you think is most efficient and better for the people. I will start off by saying that I think a Socialism is best because it incorporates the benifits of the free market with a government that makes sure no one is too rich or too poor.
Actually, many European countries have a number of greatly Socialistic properties, and they are doing fine.
I agree with what you say!
I agree. Norway, in which I live, is one.
Why is it the government's job to ensure that everyone isn't too rich or too poor? (Especially the first?) Why can't I be as rich as I can get, if I earn it honestly? Who are you to say that I'm too rich, and I deserve to have my money taken away from me?
A Capitalism is a Kleptocracy, as it is easier for those who have money to make more money, and the place they get their money from is the poor who do not have the money to make a substantial amount of more money.
It is not that a government thinks that rich people dont deserve to be rich, only that more money needs to be given to the poor who do not have money. Once someone reaches a certain amount of millions of dollars, their are not many more things that even more wealth will bring you. I would certainly think it is much better to have 1 somewhat rich person and 5 somewhat poor people then to have 1 extremely rich person and 5 extremely poor people. Not only that, but many rich people are only rich because they were born with the money. It is not true that all rich people are rich because they earned it.
Not only that, but it is also untrue that wealth is a reflection of hard work and smart choices. Many people are rich only because of wealth with the stock market by chance, and also most poor people work much harder than extremely rich people (they have to struggle with getting as many jobs as possible to feed their families and themselves).
Capitalism is the only one that does and always will work. Communism and Socialism-Against human nature & impossible.
Capitalism is prime because it allows those who are in the lower classes change to middle, and middle to upper, and so forth. If a poor man/woman works hard enough, his/her employer has a duty to give him/her a raise/promotion. If a man/woman works hard in a socialism/communism, he/she would still get the same pay as the lazy butt-head that sleeps all day. If a poor man/woman works very hard but dosn't get fair treatment, he/she could simply switch jobs in a capitalism. In a communism, your stuck with the same job your whole life, and therefore you'd be in deep doodoo if you were a ditch-digger/garbage man/woman.
I think it's obvious what I choose. Capitalism is the only system that has worked , worked well, and will continue to work well into the future.
In capitalist systems, society is ruled by the individual. Who would want to live any other way? In socialist systems, society is ruled by the state. Why would one want to live like that?
I'll take the system where the government's role is limited to ensuring individual rights and private individuals are free to own, trade and act without coercion. Keep in mind that everyone acts in his own perceived self-interest.
You seem to forget that Europe exists. Many European countries have great economies with almost no poverty and are Socialisms. I really do not understand what you mean by against human nature. If you mean that humans have the nature to be competitive, I say to the contrary that humans actually seem to posess the greatest ability to get along and work in groups more than any other animals.
You are wrong, in a Communism society is ruled by the state, in a Socialism society is ruled by a limited free market which prevents poverty, and in a Capitalism society is ruled by a complete free market. I would especially like to quote your last line about how everyone acts in their own self interest. By saying this you are admitting how in a Capitalism the rich abuse the poor, because it is in their own self interest. Although every goes to their own self interest, all people who are born rich have a more influencial self interest.
Capitalism, with a little bit of Socialism mixed in.
You seem to be ignoring the fact that in the early 1900s, all of America was a Capitalism and that is why their was so much poverty. Then in the 1930s with Roosevelts New Deal, the U.S. took a step towards Socialism and the country was brought out of depression and most of the poverty ended.
