Community Patch - How To Install

I can't use the non EUI balance patch, setting my tech screen not working. I think, after some reading here, that it's because I miss some DLC but could I know which ones are really required? Only the civs ones I hope?

Note : EUI balance patch work but I would prefer don't use EUI.

Note 2 : I did empty the cache and user data more than one time :D

Note 3 : I don't have the correct texts for policies (for example text for legalism say it give a cultural buildings) but balance changes works and don't give a building, any idea to correct this (I use a french version of Civ 5).

Which parts are you trying to use, exactly? Here are your possible combinations:

1)CP

2)CP & CBP

3)CP, CBP, Civ4Diplo, CSDiplo, EUI, EUI Compatibility

4)CP, CBP, Civ4Diplo, CSDiplo, Non-EUI Compatibility

5)CP, CBP, Civ4Diplo, CSDiplo, Non-EUI Compatibility, Health&Plague

6)Any of the above + Events&Decisions, More Luxuries, and/or any of the compatible mods listed at the bottom

7)CP, Special Events&Decisions

If using EUI, place it unzipped in the DLC folder. Everything else always goes in the mods folder. If using CBP, delete CP's LUA folder. If using Civ4Diplo/CSDiplo, delete CBP's LUA folder. You need all civilization DLCs, G&K, and BNW.

If one of these things is wrong, fix that first, or its impossible to know where to start looking for issues.

I have 2 separate problems

Tech choice screen broken
1/ I install CP alone, my tech screen is ok

2/ I add CBP (and revove CP Lua) and my tech screen is broken (if I add Civ4Diplo, CSDiplo, Non-EUI Compatibility, and remove CBP LUA, the problem remains)

So I think miss some DLC (I have not all civs DLC)

Policies descriptions

If I install CP, CBP, Civ4Diplo, CSDiplo, EUI, EUI Compatibility, all seems to work, the only thing I miss are the new descriptions of policies (the descriptions remains the Civ 5 ones, in French). No idea what to do for that.

If you do not have all Civs DLC I don't know in exactly what way the mod gets screwed up, but I imagine that's the problem then.

Ok, thanks. I did'nt think my policies text problem was because the miss of DLC.

edit: I confirm the second problem is not related with the missing DLC, setting Civ 5 language to english I have the good descriptions.

Edit: Disregard that, I suck those things that one sucks in the meme. Clearing the cache helped. May I propose that you add "Clear you cache under C:\foo\bar\etc\cache" to the installation instructions on the first page? I don't see any real downsides to that, and I'm sure it would save installers and you guys from a good amount of debugging of related problems.

Editedit: I mean, yeah, the instructions DO mention cache-deletion under "Troubleshooting", but from the wording used I got the impression that it's not needed with the EUI version. Which was a pretty stupid way of thinking, aye, but it got me nonetheless. :|

Hi there, I have a problem with installing this beast. I *thought* I did everything according to the instructions on the first page of the thread, but no cake. My top bar has gone to text-only mode, with stuff written there in all caps, like "FAITH!" Hovering over them gives pop-up that reads "Brief description" :)

Also, my whole tech tree is missing. :(

I just bought the Civ5 Complete Edition, so I think I should have all the DLC. I tried to cross-reference with some lists online, and did not find anything that I'm missing, for what it's worth.

So, what I did (as I thought the 1st page here told me to do):
1) unpack the EUI into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\DLC\UI_bc1
2) unpack all the mods to E:\Files\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS.
I installed CP, CBP, CSD, C4DF, Compatibility Files (EUI), More Luxuries, and Events & Decision.
3) Delete the LUA folders under CP and CBP. Leave any other LUA folders untouched.
4) Start Civ5, select mods (everything above but EUI could be found there to be selected), start game, notice UI errors.

I downloaded all of the stuff today straight from the links on the 1st page of this thread, if that's of any help.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

unpacking EUI into that folder- do you mean that you put it 'in' that folder, or that was the EUI folder created after you unzipped the file?

Also, you have all leader/wonder/expansion DLC, yes? Latest version of civ?

I grabbed the folder inside the downloaded EUI zip and threw it to the DLC folder, making the path above. Not sure what you're getting at? I *did* unpack it, not just put the Zip file there. And I also checked that there were no extra levels in the folder hierarchy.

Anyway, clearing the cache seemed to help. Though I actually did not try with EUI again yet, instead I downloaded the non-EUI compatibility mod and removed the EUI folder under the DLC folder, and everything works like a charm. If you want, I can post back my results after trying again with EUI and this time with caches removed.

I think that now that everything's working, it implicitly means I must have all the DLC? Like I said previously I tried to cross-reference if the Civ 5 Complete Edition actually includes *all* the DLC ever, but didn't actually find anything definitive, so I'm not 100% about that, still.

Finally after a few hours playing with the community patch and the major mods I would give an advise to all players, never install this!!! else you'll never be able to play Civilization without him!

Great, great work :goodjob:

edit: bug reported in the place it must be

I become mad cause of DLCs, I did buy the 2 I think I missed and it seems I miss something else :/

Can someone help me indicating what DLC is needed? In /assets/dlc/ I have
DLC_01, DLC_02,, DLC_04, DLC_05, DLC_06, DLC_07, DLC_Deluxe, Expansion, Expension2 (+Shared and Tablet)

What is the DLC 3 and is there something after th 07?

Thanks

edit :
Grrr, forced to debug and add debug text in LUA  (It's easier for me to mod in Elder Scrolls or Fallout :) )

So, for the ones who, like me, don't want to RE-buy a complete version :
  • DLC1 : Mongol
  • DLC2 : Spain and Incas
  • DLC3 : Polynesia
  • DLC4 : Denmark
  • DLC5 : Korea
  • DLC6 : AncientWonders
  • DLC7 : CivComplete (Vanilla complete I suppose)
  • DLC_Deluxe : Babylon
Good play :)

I'm having an issue getting this mod to run. I've downloaded, extracted and place it in my Mods folder like all other mods I've installed. Unfortunately when attempt to activate it in the in-game Mods menu it informs me that it's not compatible with my version of the game. I've downloaded the ultimate edition of Civilization V off of Steam with all DLC and it is up to date.

Sorry if this has already been posted or answered in these forums. Is this mod currently in a state where it's being updated for the current version? Is this a common problem people have had with a known solution?

You are using the latest version? Verify integrity. Also, not a mac, I assume?

I'm attempting to use Community Patch v8-5 with the most up-to-date version of Civ 5 with all DLC. I am using the Mac version however I have mods activated and am freely using a number of other at the same time. The error I get on the Mods screen when attempting to activate it is that it's not compatible with my version of Civ 5. I've not run into this before using other mods.

You can't use the CP on a mac, because of the DLL. You might try emulating it, however:
