Compatible with Saved games?

Does anyone know if it is compatible with saved games from regular Civ V? We have an early but interesting one we'd like to continue with the expansion...

I'd say that's about 0% likely.

Too many changes. Interpolating from one to the other would have strange results. Many things would essentially be case-by-case judgement calls.

If the patch wasn't compatible with saved games and flipped civs around, I sincerely doubt saved games will be compatible with the expansion.
