Competitive Civ Leagues

Is there any formal Civ leagues where players play for prizes? I'm thinking stuff sanctioned by who ever owns civ atm. I'd love to see an event at like, Gen Con, or something equivalent for us fanatics. The only question is, what would the game format be? quick/duel/random?

There is a competitive league, you can see my sig for the details, but unfortunately we are completely a volunteer organization and do not receive sponsorship from Firaxis or Take2....but feel free to canvas them to do so
