Compulsory DNA checks at birth ?

This article brings up the question if DNA checks should be compulsory at birth.
Some of we darker chaps have no problem but when it comes to two white men there can be a question.

Being a father and being a dad are different things. You raise 3 kids for 12, 14 and 16 years, you're their dad. You're on the hook for child support.

I like it. Test away. The father deserves to know if the child is actually theirs. I know that the feminists in France had a problem with fathers requesting paternity tests and it's banned there, but whatever. The opinions of a radical are pretty invalid when they say that exposing a woman in a sentimental lie is against her rights.

You have to pay child support if you raised a kid thinking it was yours, found out it wasn't yours through testing and then left the woman and child?

Yes you do have to continue paying child support and yes you should have to continue paying child support. Being a father is more than biology.

Agreed. But I also agree that if you for all intends and purposes were the dad of a child, you are liable for child support. If DNA/faithfulness of the woman plays a role in your decision - get a test. One you have decided to be dad - you have entered an irrevocable responsibility.
