I was playing a game on my computer and it suddenly froze. I thought it was the game but i couldn't do anything except for turning the computer off. Now when I try to turn the computer on I get no. picture. I checked the cables and they're plugged in.

Go into safe mode, uninstall the graphics driver, and reinstall it.

If its a driver crash, that oughta fix it. Happened so much on my XP box I could do that in 5 minutes flat.

I can't go into safe mode. There is no picture. Nothing when I turn the computer on. I think it still makes all the usual noises when I turn it on.

Hmm... do you have another monitor on hand?

Also, does the computer beep? There are beep codes that can tell you if something went wrong during the POST.

Sounds like your monitor blew up.

I don't have any spare monitors.

The computer doesn't make any beeps. Normally it makes two beeps but that is after the picture comes on.

Hmmm... not making two beeps? Doesnt sound good.

The beep codes are the POST. If its not POST'ing at all thats not a good thing.

The computer only has one PCI peripheral, the graphics card.

How do I check the RAM? Is it just to check if it's connected properly?

You remove it and then you put it back in. Reseating it.

My computer was taken to PC World. They don't know what's wrong with it so they're going to send it off to be repaired. It will cost at least £70 and up to £100 depending on what needs to be replaces and how much it costs to buy an external hard drive or USB memory device, and I don't have any money.
