Hi everyone!
I'm having problems with the game (vanilla Civ4 + Rhye's and Fall of Civilizations) shutting down my whole computer. Not making it to restart but to completely shut down. This happens usually between 30 to 60 minutes, sometimes before and sometimes after. I have no problems with any other games, lighter or heavier.
My computer is:
AMD X2 64 3800+
Nvidia 7800GTX 256mt
2 GB memory
500W power
I have updated my drivers and patched the game. I've checked the temperatures of the parts with HWMonitor by CPUID. The gfx card is at 80 degrees (the maximum) celsius during gameplay. The processor temperature is around 50 degrees celsius during gameplay, if I remember correctly.
I've understood that this is a more or less common problem, but even with all the topics here or elsewhere I haven't found any answers to the problem. In one topic someone said to try cleaning the cache. I use CCleaner to clear my cache every now and then, but it doesn't help with this case.
