The Hero Within Us All
Welcome to The Hero Within, I believe this nes is completely original in its concept.
Background Story
In the past decade, the world has been through much suffering. Blitzman, after rampaging through Europe had been halted and driven back to Berlin. Europe is in ruins, as the attacks of Germany and Adolf Hitler had crumbled the once great cities of Europe. In Yalta, the great leaders of the world met to decide the future, Truman and Captain America representing the USA, Churchill and Union Jack representing the UK, and Stalin and Comrade Red representing the USSR. This fate would decide the future of the world, as Europe is divided into Spheres of Influence. These heroes returned to their respective countries with glory, for Captain America, Union Jack, and Comrade Red had helped defeat Blitzman and liberate Europe. These heroes were real heroes, superheroes. A new threat looms over the world, as the world is split into 2 camps. Now the true heroes must emerge, will you led your hero and your followers to save the world and bring peace, or will you attempt to take it over? Will you follow the orders of your nation you are loyal to, even though the orders may not be the right thing to do, or will you defy your leaders to try to prevent a nuclear holocaust? The world now needs a hero, will you be one?
Player Heroes
You can only be the superheroes or villains. You cannot control any nations unless you overthrow the government and take it over, but it will be very difficult as you have to taken the entire army of the nation.
NPC
All nations and a select couple superheroes or villains that I have plans for.
Organization
You control a superhero/villain and its organization. Your organization is your heros life. It has a secret HQ, which will be secret, so I will PM you the location or you PM me it. If you loose your HQ, you lose everything. Your HQ has to be on earth until I say so, and if you are aligned to a bloc, it has to be in your blocs territory or a neutral nations territory. No American bases in Russia. You can upgrade your base, but more on that later.
Economy
There will be no economy levels, but you have funds. These are represented in WC, (world currency). You need funds to do anything but how do you get funds you ask. Well basically anyway that is logical. Every turn you get a certain number of funds added to your stockpile from supporters and stuff, but you can get funds other ways. If you are a good guy, you can get them from rewards, gifts, loans, etc. If you are evil it is more fun, go rob banks, threaten third world countries, sell stuff on the Black Market (more on that later). You need funds for your organization, supplies, your henchmen, missions, and evil plots. At the beginning you will have a normal job, that you will get some money for. Kind of like a secret Identity, but this will only last so long.
Military
You will not have a military per se, you will have your henchmen which you hire, arm, and train. It costs funds to do this. Your superhero can not do everything alone, you need people to man your base and carry out missions. As time goes on you can get better weapons, vehicles, evil robots, nukes, anything you can think of. Price list is down below.
Headquarters
Your top secret Headquarter, can be located anywhere, just keep it secret because it is everything to you. You can upgrade it with pretty much anything you want, underground bunkers, anti aircraft batteries, missile silos, etc. These all cost funds. But hold your horses, did you think you will get a cool base already? Haha, thats a good one. Everyone starts out in their basement, you must earn your HQ and respect.
Black market
There is a black market, controlled by me, if you want to try to purchase something, PM me and I will tell you the price. But be warned, if you order a nuke, you may get bomb casing full of old pinball machine parts. You will not always get what you paid for, but there are many valuable things on the market.
Evil Plots
So now that you got your base, henchmen and shiny new nuke, what are you going to do evil villain? Hmm, Ill take over the world. Isnt that everyones goal. So you have this grand scheme in your mind, why you have to plan it. It takes funds and good planning to detonate that nuke under Paris. All schemes have to be planned and take time to pull them off, for training and stuff. How big it is, the longer and more costly it will be. This will be secret, PM me if you want to start to plan a scheme. Minor operations do not need real planning and can be usually pulled off the turn it is ordered, and most require no funds. Mugging people or robbing the local 7-11 cost nothing even robbing the bank costs nothing, anything higher than that will cost something.
Intelligence
So now you ask, how will you stop Mr. Villain from sinking Bermuda into the sea, why you spy of course. This can also be used to find other details about the enemy or even your own friends. Put funds into spying and every turn you will get a PM of info, some may be true, some may be false. But it can be valuable and maybe help you save the world. Villains can do the same thing to the good guys.
Research
Put funds into research to build to invent your super robot of doom with the lazar beam and a build in microwave to make that popcorn when you are razing Mexico. Kind of self explanatory.
SUPERHERO LEVELS:
Every once in a while Ill determine you deserve a level up. This is based upon things like successful villain plots, or defeating a villain. Something worthy. When you level up youll be able to upgrade 3 stats(see below). These are the following levels.
0) Loser with a Cape
1)Good Neighbor/Neighborhood Prankster
2) Hometown Hero/Villain
3) Province Hero/Villain
4) Well-Known Hero/Villain
5) Front Page Hero/Villain
6) National Hero/Villain
7) World-Wide Hero/Villain
8) Danger to yourself and others
SUPERHERO/VILLAIN ABILITIES: (thanks to Warman)
As your superhero begins to fight crime, or start it he/she will gain experience in their actions. As a result theyll be able to gain many new abilities. You will start with 1 power of your choosing. You may only pick 3 abilities each time you level up out of a total of 24 abilities. As a result youll only have 1/2 of the total abilities, limiting yourself to a specialty or a balanced field. There are 6 abilities in 4 different fields each.
(Youll need the one before you get to the next level. Everyone automatically starts with a 0" in every power)
Strength:
0) Muscular Person: Can lift 250 lbs
1) Extreme-Human Strength: Can lift 500 lbs
2) Super-Human Strength: Can lift 1000 lbs
3) Super Strength: Can lift 2000 lbs
4) Incredible Strength: Can lift 5,000 lbs
5)Unbelievable Strength: Can lift 10,000 lbs
6) The Hulk: Can lift 30,000 lbs
Speed/Agility:
0) Runner: Run 15 mph
1) World-Class Runner: Run 25 mph
2) Cheetah: Can run 40 mph
3) Super Speed: Can run 80 mph
4) Incredible Speed: Can run 120 mph
5) Unbelievable Speed: Can run 150 mph
6) The Flash: Can run 250 mph
Endurance:
0) Determined: Youll be able to take some physical blows, but not guns.
1) Bear: Need a few good shots
2) Elephant: Need a lot of firepower
3) Bullet-Proof: Most small arms ineffective
4) Blast-proof: Immune to fire and small explosions now, eh?
5) NBC: Radiation? Viruses? Chemicals? No problem.
6) Superman: Nearly indestructible
Other Powers(There is no prerequisite for any) Can upgrade each power no more than once per level up. Every person starts with ONE power
Flight: I can fly like an eagle
1) Eagle: 60 mph
2) Jet Liner: 250 mph
3) Speed of sound: At the speed of sound
Laser Eyes: Cool, laser eyes
1) Short Range: Range of 20 feet.
2) Long range: Range of 100 feet and causes the target to burst into flames.
3) Laser of doom: Range of 300 feet and causes the target to explode
Telekinesis: Control things with your MIND!
1) Weak mind: Can lift up objects of up to 300 pounds.
2) Strong mind: Can lift up objects of up to 1000 pounds.
3) Uber mind: can lift up objects of up to 5000 pounds
Regeneration/Healer: be able to revive your wounds faster, along with heal your allies.
1) Minor Healer: Heal minor injuries
2) Major Healer: Regenerate Limbs
3) Jesus: Bring back the dead
Fire Generation
1) Lighter: Shoot small fire balls out of hands.
2) Torch: Shoot large fire balls out of hands and small streams of fire of up to 20 feet range.
3) Flamethrower: Shoot Large fire streams out of hands and can cover body with flames
Ice Breath
1) Frost: Can freeze objects for a short period of time.
2) Ice: Can freeze people and most objects, can freeze small flames, and fire streams of ice out of your hands.
3) Blizzard: Can freeze objects up to Absolute Zero, can freeze fire and anything that gets in your way.
Electricity
1)Spark: Generates minor bolts of electricity, strong enough to stun people.
2)Blot: Generates major bolts of electricity shoots them out of your hands, strong enough to kill people.
3)Lightening: Generates Lightening bolt from the sky, can generate very powerful electrice bolts from hands, hitting multiple starts
Weather
1)Minor Nature Controller: Can call up rain, moderate winds, light hail and moderate snow.
2) Major Nature Controller: Can call up heavy rain, Heavy winds, Heavy snow, moderate hail
3) Freak of Nature: Blizzards, thunder storms, tornados, Bolts of lightening, heavy hail
Invisibility
Dirty Glass: A little transparent, good for dark locations
Crystal Clear: Transparent, but some angles make you visible
Air: Perfectly invisible.
Stretch:
Armstrong: Sharp increase in reach.
Contortionist: Make simple shapes with your body
Clay: Mold yourself into nearly any form.
Telepathy:
Mind Reader: Read people's thought
Mind Trick: Wave your hand and make the weak minded do something
Mind Control: Control several people with your mind.
Terraform:
Ivy: Can control plants; plant growth
Shake: Can cause small shaking in the ground
Earthquake: Can cause small earthquakes.
Animals:
Zookeeper: Can get small animals to help you
Herder: Can control groups of animals
Gaia: Can fuse with an animal while controlling others.
Force Field
Shield: Can create a personal shield for a short period of time
Wall: Can create a protective bubble over a short range
Barrier: Strong protective bubble over a larger area.
Poison:
Cough: Create a teargas cloud
Hack: Create a mild poisonous gas cloud
Choke: Create a highly deadly poison gas cloud
