Just to ask if theres any thought off adding some more options.

Examples could be:

Napalm Bomb: Good for intantry and for forest and jungles.
Bunker Buster: Complety rips through defence bonous but limited collactrol damage.
Smart Bomb: Can target specfic buildings in a city or improvemnets
Cluster bombs: Brilliant anti infantry. Will cause terrain damage for a couple of turns after. Negative diplomatic points.
Tactical Bomb: Hits units with limited building damage
Strategic Bomb: Massive damage to buildings and civilian pop.
Sidewinder: Anti Air missile
Torpedo: Early aniti ship missle
Exocet: Late anti ship missle.

Thanks for fleshing out some good ideas in that dept though... I'll refer back to this when I get there.
 
Just makeing sure you dont miss anything ;)

With the sidewinders or any Air to Air missle you could expand on it like this.
For a basic level 1 jet aircraft it has a 90% of hitting and destroying its target and 10% chance of missing in which it withdraws and has one turn to find another target.
For a trained level 7 Unit (depending on promotions) it has a 60% chance of missing 10% chance of being shot down and 30% of missing. Once a plan fired off it load its into a dog fight with cannons.

Same thing with navy units. But theres no dodgeing the torpedos and missiles only shooting them down before they hit. (look at falkland war navy battles)

You can also have a "promotion" tree for missles resprenting the extra tecnology put into them. So you can have a basic naplam bomb or you can upgrade it with thermite to do extra damage to civilian buildings or upgrade it with phosphorus to have extra unit killing capability.
 
Lots of good thoughts.

There's a big reason here for having worked out Power Attacks (missiles and such were a big part of that). With Power Attacks, the first # of attacks in a given combat are stronger in various ways. This means if I envision a plane to carry 2 missiles, I can give that plane 2 rounds of power attacks at + whatever bonuses I figure those missiles would represent.
 
BTW there are two interceptor missile promotions for planes which giver the same result. Or at least there was last time I got planes.
