so I want to convert my .bmp animation frames into .gif so I can make an animated gif, but the one in paint shop pro just refuses to do anything after I press ok, so I got a special program: advanced batch converter 3.9

but when I convert, the color quality changes alot. I don't know if you know my first unit, the bomb thrower, but it had weird colors in the preview, and this program did it. because look at my other unit wich I tried to convert:

fouteattack.gif

how can I otherwise quickly convert these images ?

Yes, Advanced Batch Converter screws up the colours when it converts anything into a format with a smaller palette. The same is true of pretty much all the batch converters I've tried.

The solution is to convert not the bmp files from your original renders, but the pcx files from your flics, because you've already applied a good palette to these. Use Flicster and open up your animation. Go to Export and change the Export Type to Individual Cel PCXs. Then export it. Do the same for each flc. Then simply go to where you saved them and delete all the ones in directions other than SE (or whichever direction you're making the preview in). Then batch convert them from pcx to gif. This means that the final preview will use exactly the same images as your unit, rather than the true-colour original renders, so it's a bit more accurate too.
