📚 Admin Project Update: I've added a major feature to PictureBooks.io called Avatar Studio! You can now upload photos to instantly turn your kids (and pets! 🐶) into illustrated characters that star in their own stories. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
If you were a fan of action-adventure movies and television shows in the 1970s, one of our favorite people just passed away: Kitty O'Neil was once called "The Fastest Woman Alive", having set a land speed record of 512.7 mph/825 kph in a "rocket car" in 1976. She started out as a competitive high-diver, but missed her shot at the Olympics in 1964 when she contracted spinal meningitis. She moved into Hollywood stunt work and was a driver and a diver for shows like Baretta and The Bionic Woman and movies like The Blues Brothers and Smokey and the Bandit II. Her wikipedia page notes that she held 22 speed records on land and water before her retirement in 1982. She even had a Mattel action figure in 1978 (hey, that was a big deal in 1978 ). The photo is of her 127-foot jump off the roof of the Los Angeles Hilton for an episode of Wonder Woman in 1979. fwiw, Ms. O'Neil was also deaf.
Too bad China's impressively huge statue isn't impressive to look at. Boring bland and dull. Why didn't they make something cool like Russia's "Motherland Calls" or Norway's Sverd i Fjell or Mongolia's Khan statue or the Statue of Liberty. Anything, really. So many options to make it cool.

I was definitely thinking of a Chinese one that was similarly boring though. Perhaps the 'sitting Mao'. Definitely heard some news (years and years ago) about how China was building a colossal statue and it was just a passive man.
