I have downloaded them and will try them out tomorrow. I've been reading tonight and mostly ignoring my computer.

Those pics are great, but too small. My screen requires at least 3800 x 2100 size to fill it,

Okay... 4K, forests with no people or animals or mountains, not in winter, sized to fit a gigantic screen... *takes notes*

Is the amount of light in them okay?

More on @Birdjaguar's Quest For Wallpaper:

I've kept the tabs open where I found these so I can give you links if you want to try a different resolution. Some are available in a wide (no pun intended) variety.

    Anyway...

That's Canada? It looks like something you'd find on Kashyyyk or Endor!

I have not seen the canadian bit, but the temperate rainforest in Washington state is totally Endor, it looks much more like it to me than the bits of California where it was actually filmed. It is also really big and empty.

It is indeed Canada. I haven't been to the Suspension Bridge, but there's a similar rainforest on Vancouver Island, where I have been.

There have been ongoing disputes between the indigenous people all along the coast and on some of the islands for a very long time, over logging and now because of pipe lines. The ecosystem in this part of the world is incredibly beautiful and also fragile - it wouldn't take much to ruin it. There are some parts of these forests that are considered sacred by the indigenous people, and having been there, I completely understand why. It's like nature built a cathedral out of trees, leaves, and moss.

BTW, you know how all that greenery happened? Thank the Pacific salmon going upstream to spawn. It's the nutrients from their carcasses that make the soil so fertile, as some of them swim hundreds of miles inland, and the bears carry them away from the rivers and streams where they catch them.
