Oh my goodness. Satire simply cannot survive in this environment.

The inclusion of Kennedy is surprising. Do conservatives like Kennedy? Or is he just a symbol for the era between the war and the Civil Rights Act, without the baggage that most figures from that era would carry?

Kennedy occupies a place in U.S. history like Pierre Trudeau does in Canadian history. Whether you loved or hated him, there is no denying what a profound effect some of his words and deeds had on the country, both in governance and in its collective psyche.

And Robert E. Lee in the back right window?

I also think there's that Lady who made Stars and Stripes Banner ... Betsy Rose !

I thought the Ike was just horrid. Also, what's with the keys?
Traditionally, the keeper of the keys either has the power to imprison, or they're the keeper of whatever the group or institution is. For instance, when I served as the Chatelaine for my local SCA branch, I wore a key on a chain that hung from my belt. I had the keys to the kitchen, store-cupboards, wardrobes (figuratively, not literally, as our group didn't have our own actual castle, fortress, or manor). It was a symbol of both authority and service.

Keys signify protection and authority, which means Trump should never have access to them. He's demonstrated that he has no idea in hell what he's actually supposed to do with them.

Is that supposed to be all Republicans channeling their Sith knowledge into Trump so that he can figure out how to read the constitution?

It's funny how the vast majority of people are going to remember Trump as an idiot, but there's like 70 million people who will remember him as the exact opposite

The statement "Kennedy would be a Republican today" is used to "demonstrate" how far left the Democratic party has moved sine Kennedy's day.

I'm not sure. Remember how in 2008 you couldn't find anyone who admitted to voting for Bush in 2004?

I think that a lot of US politics 2016-2020 will be remembered as a sort of collective manic episode, by both Democratic and Republican voters. Nobody will have a very clear idea of what they were thinking or what their intentions were, if they even remember what was happening at all.

Biden is going to be a pretty bad president, but at least his administration might serve as a sort of national chill-out tent.

I'm sure that's what a lot of Americans would like.
But the divisions seem so deep that they will be easily exploited by the likes of Fox News, social media manipulators and
many others who might benefit from the bipartisan paralysis.
The determination of Never-Trumpers to hold to account those who mounted legal challenges with no evidence will keep
the rift open. The various state Bar Associations will (IMO) take up those cases and keep the rancour going at the States level as
well as the federal.
Finally, given the age of the incumbents, as well coronavirus, the future balance in Congress and the Senate is an actuarial problem.

Urban Bee Lab's big, arty, AI-controlled beehive.
Pretty and interesting, but it would be edgier with Murder Hornets instead of bees.
