Yeah, that's basically what's been popping up more and more. Canadian shoppers are trying actively to seek out Canadian products if possible, and if not possible, to at least not buy American imports.

The wild thing is that this is also happening in Quebec. To get Quebecers to put up Canadian maple leaf flags all over the place and proclaim how proud they are to be Canadian just shouldn't have been possible.

The last time I've seen Quebecers this patriotic was during the Unity Rally in Montreal in 1995. This was just prior to the independence vote, which was won by the No side by a very slim percentage. I remember Pierre Trudeau coming out of retirement to make one of the best speeches I ever heard him make in either English or French, in support of the No side.

Fat-cell formation. This ultra-high-res shot of stem cells differentiating into fat tissue was taken by Shuntaro Yamada, a stem-cell biologist and dentist at the University of Bergen, Norway, who says it is among the sharpest images he has ever captured. “Adipogenesis of bone marrow stem cells is definitely an interesting research area for us,” he says. Understanding the process could help researchers who are working towards applications in soft-tissue generation, such as wound healing or fat reconstruction.

In honor of the Canadian hockey player who scored the winning goal in the recent Canada-U.S. game, two of the McDonald's restaurants in Edmonton changed their name.

I had to google, and there are two possibilities. There is Altenburg Castle in Bamberg:

And Bamburgh castle, England. Bamburgh was in the Last Kingdom but that castle does not look that old to me. Far too many windows for something built for defence.

The photo I posted was captioned as Bamburgh. And yes, the Last Kingdom and not Last Viking.

It would have to be on the coast to match the stories.

Your second pictures appears to be the Bamburgh of the books.
