Corporations...HELP!

Okay, just started playing BTS. I built my first corporation not a half hour ago and I've spent the intervening time searching for an explanation of how to spread the thing. There is no "Corporate Executive" unit in the founding city, which is what I expected from the manual.

Probably a simple, basic question, but one that is not easily searched in the forum. I found posts on whether to build barracks, but no simple guide to running a corporation. Please help!

You don't get a free exec, like you do missionaries for some religions, but you should be able to build execs in any city that has the corp. Is that not so?

Get out of State Property.

Are you in State Property? I don't believe you can build executives while in State Property. (Or found corporations, I think... but maybe you switched just after founding.)
