Let's see if I get this right:

1. If I control the HQ I get +4:gold: for every city with the corporation present, includig HQ.

2. Any city with the corporation present will be having the corp's effect for every resource consumed. If I have 2 fish and 1 clam, Sid's Sushi Co will give me a bonus times 2 or times 3?

3. If I spread my corporation the another civ they will get the bonus and increased costs, but I still get the +4 in my HQ. Unless that civ is economically unstable this is unwise, because the bonus will be greater than the +4 I'm getting?

4. Settling a corporation in a new city is INSANELY expansive. Only do it in big cities?

1) Yes, +4 gold /city that has it. This is increased by any building that improves gold- markets, banks, wall street, etc...

2)Again, yes the bonus is multiplied by the total number of the relevant resources you have. In your example, it is 3x the base bonus.

3)It is highly dependent on the overall situation. Which corporation, what are your relations with the empire you are trading it to, are you currently trading to get the relevant resources from them (they will generally cancel trades once they have the corp in question), etc.

4)Again, the correct answer is 'it depends'. Which corp, how much money do you have available, how many resources do you have, what is the city set up to do? Sticking Mining,Inc in a tiny town that was created just to grab a resource in an out of the way location can potentially turn it into a very useful source of additional military units.

i have access to coal, aluminium and free market civic, but cannot build aluminium co ? ... please help !

Are you sure you're not running the Mercantilism or State Property civic?

Do you have a Great Scientist?

Welcome to the Forums MrData.

im sure about civics, .. but i have in city panel two little white scientists, but dont know how to use them to build aluminium co. ?

Ah. No you need an actual Great Scientist unit to found your Aluminum Co. corp.

Do you have enough gold? Do you have another corps in place that competes with that one? You can't build Aluminum Corps in the same city as Mining Inc for instance.

i did not know that i need GS to bulid one, now i know .. thanks guys ... CIV rulez .. do you play CIV online somewhere .. ?

@PureE:
For a really good read on how corporations work, grab Mr. Cynical's article "The Power of Sushi" in the strategy guides, or from his sig, if you see it. It's a fantastic education on how they actually work, and how to use them effectively. It improved my game 100%.

Just MHO. Happy corp spamming! :)

Unless something prevents it, found all corporations in your wall street city to maximize the gold that comes into. That 4-8 pieces of gold doesn't sound like much, but it adds up once it goes thru Wall Street and that city's market/bank setup.
