corrupted file

i tried reading the tech support but it didnt help.
im using mac os 9.
every timm i try to load the file or the autosaves it says there was a error in reading the file.

Is it a save game file off your machine?

Are you sure you are running the same version of Civ3 as you were when you saved the files? If you have reinstalled Civ3, or you have more than one copy you may not be running the same patch level.

i didnt re-install it and they are files from my computer. it just froze when i was playing and i couldnt re-open my save files or the auto-save files.

If you want to upload one of the failing files I'll be happy to see if I can load the file. I suspect I will be able to, though, in which case it points to corrupted game software. Try trashing the System Folder/Preferences/CivIII Preferences file. If that doesn't fix it you'll need to reinstall your Civ3 application software.
