use the editor, go to diffculty levels. For all shown, the default corruption is 100%.

If it is lowered to 60-80%, wouldn't this make the game playable until patched?

I think it should. I just hope corruption isn't too bad on TETurkhan's 256x256 world map! :) (Poor Byzantium...)
poor Xen :p

I find the game playable as it is, just not comparable to PTW.

But part of the challenge with the corruption problems as they are concerns the AI -- how are the corruption changes affecting the AI? Adjusting the sliders doesn't equalize things between human and AI -- hopefully a quick patch, addressing themost serious bugs, is just around the corner.

does this problem/bug only affect epic games? or it affects conquest games as well?

All games.

Does anyone know the exact nature of the bug?

Corruption seems to be not just heavy, but inconsistent. A city closer to my empire might have like 65 pecent corruption, while a city near to it but further from my capital may have almost no corruption. (No corruption reduction buildings involved...)

I've taken to setting corruption at 70 percent in the editor, but this means my scores don't get recorded...

Check out alexman's corruption thread in the C3C Bugs forum -- it has a comprehensive explanation of the relevant corruption bugs and how they work in C3C.

@Master Shake/gelat:
If you change the corruption slider settings in the editor, you could stumble across another bug (refer to SirPleb's report in the bugs section). It's probably not that problamatic, but annoying if you try to improve a city's spt from 9 to 10 for example. Bug: absolute production/commerce output could be lower if you re-assign citizens to different working tiles with an actually higher raw production/commerce output (relative waste/corruption can increase).

Im not sure what other people do but my thought is to set min. or just nuisence corruption in all govts esp. ai govts untill it is fixed and to adjust for the higher shields in other ways to balance things. In other words all the govts have to made close to equal with changes in worker rates-police-sci rates ect to add the variety but everyone need a small corruption rate for now with extra units for the ai and maybe higher support cost for the human player to off set the higher output.

In fact -minimal corruption rates but higher build costs and the human player having no free units and paying higher upkeep per unit seems to work ok. In testing this the AI does well in the system and it is a challenge for the human player .
