COTM 41 Spoiler2: End of the Middle Ages

Reading Requirements:

  1. Must be able to research an Industrial Age Technology.

Posting restrictions

  2. No discussion of Industrial Age (or later).
  3. Absolutely NO discussion of any other active 'X'OTM Contest

OK, so it's a 'fake' archipelago. :) The map settings can set that up, and did in this case. Many people will probably finish this one off during the Middle Ages, so tell us about your conquests! And if you are planning a later victory type, how are you setting it up?

After reading the posts in the first spoiler it seems that I’m behind the pack. I’m still playing.
Entered the MA and went for Chivalry. Leading in tech. Had taken Knights Templar from Aztecs.
Assimilating Aztec cities and gearing up for a big invasion into Mayan territory. I like their wonders.
Friendly with the other civs. Selling some techs to Isabel for crazy gpt. Financed the knight to cav upgrade.:goodjob:
The witch turned on me. Poor planning on her part.:mischief: Dog pile on Spain. Took Leo’s and five cities from her. Got peace.
Eyeing up the French, they should be stretched pretty thin in the conquered Aztec land. Aiming for a domination victory now.

Don't worry about it: I'm behind the group, too. Forced the Aztecs into a OCC in between Maya and Spain (somehow they walked a settler through hostile Maya territory). Turned on England, splitting Spain&Maya off from France. Turned on Maya with help of Spain. Took over their area. Turned on Spain, and started taking the former Mayan cities when I hit the IA. Their UU seems to consistently beat my musketmen and grab workers left and right, and the RNG is always against my cavs  . Aiming for a late conquest, or possibly domination.

And I'm still in the game, too.
Predator going for Diplomacy.
We entered the Industrial Age in 360 Ad.
ICSing big time, Aztecs and Mayas reduced to OCC soon to go. :hammer:
Reputation still clean, everybody loves us

Four-turn-research since engineering. :smug:
I went the upper path first in the hope the AI would provide me with at least one tech of the lower tree... :shake:
Well, at least they gave me Feudalism... :mischief:
Maybe I should have done Engineering for them and prayed for Invention?
Maybe I manage to trigger French GA to let them do Replacable Parts at least for me...

 No bad luck with the AIs' free techs this game

Paul, I posted my game in the last spoiler thread. Predator going for diplomacy. And entered the IA in 370 AD. So let's see if you can stay ahead. ;)

Blecch. My game is screwed up. Four times, my game crashed when I made peace for cities. So, spain keeps an one-tile-island-city, and I have to wait for marines to take it, even though there aren't any defenders. I'm not going to finish.

:scared: Ouch, that will depend on whether you got something useful from the AI after Feudalism... I did not :(

Feudalism was the only thing I got from the AI too. My full progress is in the last spoiler thread... ;)

Well, you can't go faster than 4.0 turns per tech then so unless I screw up the election (again) :mischief:
I should end with the same margin ahaed of you... :p

otoh you are not supposed to talk about IA, so you might have got a tech there from the AI putting you on top... :shifty:
