Could I get away with never getting Nationalism?

I was wondering... I have been lately trying for a conquest victory. Would never researching Nationalism stop all reemergences? Or would the stability cost (no nationhood/police state combo) be too much?

It wouldn't help no matter what. Civ respawns depend on the number of civs with Nationalism in the game, so you could only delay it somewhat.

Well, I have lots of vassals... I could order them not to research Nationalism and wipe the rest out.
