I played from 02:30 to 06:30 and the game was Ok, this morning when I was going to start a game there was a small download from steam and when I tried to start a game it crashes before any CivV screen open. Does anyone has the same issue?

I have XP and had a similar problem, or maybe the same. My game only crashed when creating maps.

I had a stroke of genius, but couldn't believe it when I first noticed it, so I tested why it suddenly began to work.

I didn't move my mouse, or do anything with the keyboard, while the map was being created. I just let the computer rest until mapmaking was done and the button was showing instead of "Loading...".
Then, miraculously, it worked.
I hope this will also work for you.

Other than that, I'd also recommend to update your graphics drivers and lower graphics settings if it still won't work.

Good luck! :)

Got elsewhere an report, that it might fix the problem, when you delete 6 (n/g)cf-files in the Steam/Steamapps folder (not really sure what this means). The files will then get downloaded again and it works afterwards.
Please try this out :).

I'll try that, since I have exactly the same problem as the OP. Let me get back to you in a few minutes.

EDIT: No. Doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure is something about the patch, as that's what gets reacquired when you run the Integrity Verifitaction of the game files.
