Crash during AI processing

Hi!

I've just encountered a crash. What happens basically is that I declare war against Norway using the Colonial War Casus Belli. I take out their units and position myself for the siege of their city and end the turn. I can see Norway at least starting to process as I see and hear city bombardment just before the crash. I tried it two times and crashed both times. I will try delaying the war tomorrow and see if it helps. I attach the autosave from the turn before the cash

Can't load because of Aztecs. Sounds like it might be the stuck spy problem I had but triggering when an AI civ is making the cap instead. Might be worth checking your unit list just to rule it out anyway!

this is happening to me now, stuck on 1300 ad, keeps crashing on Sythia turn. :(

this is after patch.

And have you checked for stuck agents in your unit list?
I did, I only have one spy. He is in the process of counter spying in one of my cities with about 7 turns to go. I canceled missioned and moved him. still crashes. :(
as for stuck, how do you know an agent is "stuck". what indications should I look for.

thanks for your interest in solving this :)

Callan is referring to a situation where a spy is en route to a city that gets razed. The spy will then show a city of '$CityName$' because the city is no longer present in the game. They spy is 'stuck' and this has been crashing games. In fact, it happened in my first playthrough.

Now in my second play through, I experience a new crash during AI movement. I hit next turn, game CTDs, every time.

ok I see what stuck spy means now. thanks for clarifying.

As Johnny explained, this is a very common cause of crashing when you capture a city for yourself but I don't think it's the cause of crashing during the AI turn as no-one has been able to fix this crash by deleting such a spy. Shame, but worth verifying.
