I do hope i am not repeating anything... but if I am please tell me where to go! :)

Anyway,
I have developed my own civilization to play with. I added a lot of city names, did everything I should to set it all up (or so I think) but when the game finally gets to the point where i can start - i.e. the world create screen is finished and I have thebutton to start the game - the game completely crashes. No error, no details, just an option to send a report to Microsoft. if I do try and send details, it locks up my entire machine and the voice (which continue to play) starts skipping. If I play a "normal" civ, it loads up just fine. I just want to play with my tweaked one... just once!!!

My stats:
Pentium 1.0 (yes, it works just fine)
Radeon 9550 (just updated it yesterday to fix another issue) - 256MB RAM
512MB RAM

... uh... need anything else? Let me know...

We experienced this same phenomenon, with the exception that we also often got a pop up message (warning) that there was insufficient ram or video ram. We installed 2GB ram, and have had no further problems.

Our Intel Extreme graphics chipset uses a huge amount of program memory as shared video ram.

We were wondering if you had a similar graphics situation?

I guess it could be a graphics thing... but how come every other standard non-tweaked civilization works without so much as a hiccup? And I don't get any friendly error message... just a game dump and a nice message to send to microsoft (like they would help)...

I guess I could strip my active programs to next-to-nothing and try it but again, why do the normal civs work and not the new one I made? Should I try to replace one that exists with my neew one and then see if it works?

Okay - figure this one out. I basically took everything I did to make my own civ and overwrote the Mongols. Now it works just fine! Go figure...
