Hi, just downloaded the game with gods and kings off of steam, and having an array of problems. Random crashing, always crashing on city attacks, and now the game crashes on the loading screen for certain save files. I'm on windows 7 64 bit. I can also only play in dx9. My graphics card is a ati mobility radeon 540v, and dxdiag says I have dx11, but clicking the dx10,11 option when starting the game results in nothing happening. I think I have the latest drivers for the card, but I can't find any for it newer than 2010. I've tried reinstalling the game, the drivers, checked that compatabilty mode isn't on, nothing. Trying to start from CivilizationV_DX11 under steam apps gives me the message that d3dx11_42.dll is missing. I'm also only guessing that playing on dx11 will fix any of the crashing problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The problem if people have already tried everything which is recommended: You have a hard time giving first advices.

SP1 is installed?
You should also check if your DirectX version is up to date (might not be necessary if you have to install the SP1).
For the compatibility stuff: Please select it, save, deselect, and then try to start again.
For the drivers: It's a laptop, yes? So I guess you checked the manufacturer's website, correct? Have you checked if the generic drivers, directly from the ATI webiste, work for you?

For me the directX 10/11 launch file was renamed after the patch to something that ended in (.tmp).

After I renamed the directX 10/11 file in the deeply buried directly to make it a windows recognizable executable it worked.

^^^^Hmmmmmm. Possible solution? Can support suggest the easy fix for this?
Site to reinstall DX11 perhaps?

MisterBoomBoom, have you updated your intel video drivers? You should be able to use Dx11, but you will definitely need to update.

Yes I did. perhaps it is the remaning issue another person noticed? DX to a .tmp I think.

Ignore last post...Intel snuck in a new driver in after my last update. I installed that and am able to run at DX11 wonderfully! Thanks!

Good luck on all the upcoming fixes...can't wait!
