Craters and explosions!
Newest addition to my terrain set. Wanted the terrain to look devastated via bombing without being too repetitive with the texture and finally got a pattern down I'm pleased with. I'm going to add pollution to this. single and mixed pollution will be unaffected but 3x3 tiles will have a blast radius texture reminiscent of a nuclear blast or some huge explosion (Any other "nuke" bomb like anti-matter for example). Sure if you let the world get polluted in a 3x3 radius you will also get the texture. I've never seen the AI allow this to happen and I've never allowed pollution rampant in any of my games ever, so I'm confident no one will get to create the 3x3 pollution radius accidentally in-game. It will always be a deliberate action such as using a nuke. This is still wip:
Light bombardment:
Heavy bombardment: (No city with more craters)
Heavy bombardment: (With cities with less craters)
Heavy bombardment: (With cities with more craters)
Single craters outskirts:
Craters in every tile in the center with single craters outskirts: (The alternate with more craters is the same but adds 1 crater on the top right side of each crater surrounded by craters)
In-game it will be hard to achieve this look as the AI wants to repair damage first. Still with enough modding I'm pretty sure something can be done. Nevertheless it still looks pretty nice to me even when used the vanilla way.
