[SCENARIO] Crossroads of the World - Historical Edition

    This is a modmod-scenario based on Crossroads of the World, an official BtS scenario.

    My honest thought is that Crossroads of the World was a mediocre mod. Sure, it was better than the half-assed Mesoamerica, but it was still the weakest out of the official BtS mods. I mean, the Middle East map they used is unbearably horrible.

    The aim of this modmod is to add some historicity to the mod while keeping its commerce aspects. It isn't exactly historical (e.g. Ak Koyunlu and the Safavids playable from the start) but I tried to account for that with scripted events.

    • Maps, terrain, unit graphics, city placement, and python code shamelessly stolen from Embryodead's Sword of Islam!
    • Features from the original mod: Raiders, Commerce victory
    • Corporation overhaul
    • New playable Civs: Oman, Ak Koyunlu, Safavids
    • Scripted city flips and unit spawns, some semi-scripted Barbarians

    • Ethiopia: AI starts with additional cities
    • Mamluks (Egypt): AI starts with the Levant. At war with Cilicia and Cyprus.

    To do list:

    • For some reason, GlobalDefinesAlt isn't functioning correctly. Hence, AI keeps disbanding units and the Sea of Marmara is currently a lake.
    • Rebalance corporations?
    • Fix religion and corporation icons (for some reason I can't edit the GameFont.tga)
    • New civics from SoI?

    It is a problem. It helps if you give the units promotion and experience. The ai will be less likely to disband units
