National broadcaster NRK is mounting cameras on board the coastal voyage vessel Nord-Norge and plans to air a live marathon program filming every minute of the journey from Bergen to Kirkenes.

This is not a crappy reality about life aboard: just 134 hours of scenery without comments:
The program will completely dominate NRK’s channel 2 for the five-day period (with a great save of money for the state TV).
Given the latitude you can watch the show at any time day or night and still see beautiful scenery all the time.

This will be my preferred sleeping system in the summer :)

It looks like it's not the first time NRK does something like this.

This seems like listening to a video of rain, but better.

It's not the same, unless the camera pans out to check out the fine ladies on board.

Totally going to watch if I can. Hope to someday take a trip like that.

Incidentally I have like 50 hours of footage taken from my dash of driving in northern Quebec. I've always meant to condense it into a timelapse.

Wait, there are videos of attractive women on the internet? Where can I find these??!

I drove through Norway last summer, from Oslo to Trondheim, awesome nature, I remember passing a fork where two rivers converged and one of them was pure glacial water, it was so blue!

In Hawaii they had something like this. It was scenic Hawaii HD and it just played helicopter ariel shots of Maui all day long.

BRB, cashing in stocks for flight.

Slartibartfast really did do a wonderful job designing your fjords.

edit: 10 minutes in and I think you Norwegians have more flag waving per capita than America.

The first thing I saw when I turned it on an hour ago, was a rather old and ugly one.

They probably know TV is coming. Not much happens around there.

I'll have to bookmark this, as the sun is about to go down, and I doubt it will be as interesting at night

Its midnight right now and the sun is just below the horizon. Will probably be midnight sun in the following days.

    The ship past 63N already.

edit: Arctic circle is 66N but it's also now just shy of there. 'Course it's not the 21st, but all the same, the sun will still be shining.

there isn't that much darkness at night at such latitudes... however they are out at sea in the night, so there is not so much to see.

The best time, probably it's in the morning (when the ship reach land) and at sunset (maybe 23:00 CET)

Because of a number of heart attacks and broken bones on tourist trails resulting in Norway being sued, the Norwegian government declared that all foreign tourists above the age of forty were banned from all but the most touristy of places and attractions.
