Turn 0 -- 2004 AD
I decide that the best plan for the Lyons-force is to head towards the interior. That may hopefully distract Nappy into sending troops after it, leaving perimeter cities lightly defended. Or it may result in the stack being destroyed. One of the two ...
I don't like the wounded Cav/Cat outside Satsuma. Tank kills Cav.
I find some troops in Beshablik with a transport. I upgrade 3 Infantry and an Artillery and I hope to sneak them to France's western border.
IBT:
2 of our transports were sunk. Minor counterattack against the resting stack of infantry, a cav and something else was killed.
Edo falls.
Turn 1 -- 2005 AD
Zion: Tank > Tank
Karak: Artillery > Artillery
Shanghai: Tank > Tank
Berlin: Tank > Tank
Ning-Hsia: Tank > Tank
Satsuma is threatened. I decide to be offense-minded and move the Artillery down from Kyoto.
Artillery suicides, damaging the stack.
Tank kills infantry.
Tank kills Cavalry.
Tank kills Cavalry.
Infantry kills Cavalry.
Infantry kills Infantry.
Cavalry kills Grenadier.
Cavalry kills Artillery.
Only 1 Artillery remains, so that threat is mitigated.
Transport continues to run.
Two tanks delivered to Kyoto.
Power graph:
IBT:
Ok, our interior stack is decimated
The stack we had in the forest held on pretty well, though. Looks like we have an invasion force by Toulouse (nope, just destroyers).
Turn 2 -- 2006 AD
Turfan: Tank > Tank
Teot: Tank > Tank
Toulouse: Factory > Battleship
Toulouse sends a suicide transport to Satsuma (the transport can unload to it but it's exposed)
Hrm, this was a beneficial move:
Needless to say I drop the troops back off again.
Lyons is not as well-defended as it was before (there's a lot of troops sitting in Edo)...I start pushing towards it again.
IBT:
Transport is sunk as expected, nothing else happens.
Turn 3 -- 2007 AD
Vandal: Factory > Coal Plant
Tenoc: Tank > Tank
The retreating transport kills the frigate
Destroyer kills an empty transport hanging out by Kyoto, but takes a lot of damage and heals in Kyoto.
IBT:
Force outside Lyons is pretty much decimated
Turn 4 -- 2008 AD
Ning-hsia: Tank > Tank
Shimon: Arty > Tank
Osaka: Machine Gun > Machine Gun
Kyoto: Tank > Tank
First troops come from Edo. Artillery suicides. Tank kills Cav. Tank kills Cav. Tank kills Cav. Cav kills Tank (seriously).
Troops have landed near Besh. Artillery suicides. Tank loses to Tank
Infantry loses to Tank. Infantry kills Cav. Infantry kills Cav. Wounded Tank and Cav left.
IBT:
Lose the transport trying to get back to Besh.
Turn 5 -- 2009 AD
Alemanni: Tank > Tank
Satsuma: Tank > Tank
Cleaning up Besh: Infantry kills Cav. Infantry loses to Tank. Infantry defeats Tank.
I'm only going to play 5 because I'm afraid I'm just spinning wheels.
Alright, this is going to be tough. It seems like whomever goes on the offensive takes a beating; we may be at a virtual stalemate. Of course, if Nappy engaged these troops we may be in trouble:
Our Power is going down.
I don't know if I have any ideas of getting us out of this mess. Ruff Hi?
