I have taken several enemy cities that have great wonders, but they are not increasing my culture. What do I need to do to correct this?

quote me but I think that captured wonders from other civs don't increase your culture at all. Sorry.

exactly

did you notice wonder are the only culture building you get, well it'S because they are wonder, other wise you never get any culture building when you capture a citi.

I always rush a Library or Temple as soon as resistence/civil disorder stops in a newly acquired town.....that is what starts culture growing...expands the borders...and prevents the town (I think) from flipping back to the original Civ. I've actually never have had a town flip back to a civ I took it from....so I guess this strategy works. My Civ in geeral usually has an overall high culture also though (Histograph). That's why I don't really understand all the people who say their towns always flips back to the other civ? Never happens to me....

Count yourself lucky.

If you have significantly less culture the chance of 'flipping' (god I hate that word, why isn't it called revolting???) is much greater. Try a deity game, with an early war, take over your opponents captial a number of turns after he's built a wonder. Just try holding the city, sure, rushing temples helps but if you don't even have time for the city to get out of resistance before it flips back then you're not going to get the temple, and basically there is nothing you can do to avoid it. So I make sure to raze all my opponent's wonder cities and his captial.

Yah. With 1.16f, I've seen a city I had captured (where I had rushed the temple and Library and where everyone was either happy or content during at least 15 turns) flip 10 and something turns before my CULTURAL victory. Never understood that.

Count yourself VERY lucky.

So the moral of this story is that the Oracle and Adam Smith's that I got when I acquired Zimbabwe will NEVER add to my culture no matter what?

the normal benefits of the wonder are transferred to u.
only the culturual value is zero...
that means adam smith's trading supports ur trade improvements.
