Culutural Colossus: The Shopping Mall

Malls just aren't a "guy" thing. Let the girlfriend go there, they eat that up! (Just don't give her ALL the credit cards!)

Malls are great for convience - I visit the nearest one all the time. Only problem is some are far too expensive.

In Singapore, there's an entire street/road of shopping malls along Orchard Road. In local talk, it's the capital of Singapore, the shopping capital that is. Over here, there isn't much to do except shopping. There's a mall almost everywhere you look.

Personally, I quite like the mall, esp the air-conditioning (cos we're in the tropics). Here, space is premium and the only few public 'spacious' areas are in the malls.

And as one of my friends said upon discovering the culture feature in Civ 3: who needs Military when you have McDonalds? (or Malls)
