Current (SVN) development discussion thread

It would be great if someone can post a save that allows me to reproduce the icon size mismatch thing.

Post 1190?

Same happens with 388.

On another note, Belgrad (should be Beograd?) gets razed because of lack of population. The same could happen to Vindobona, though it has a unit. Either start Beograd with a longbowman, 2 population, or both.

With Beograd, we can have the Serbian civ :D:

UP: Power of Resistance - Serbian cities cannot be razed, upon all Serbian cities being taken, a stack appears next to Beograd.

UHVs:
Make there be at least 3 wars in Europe in 1916 (WWI)
Hold 2 cities in 1926 (Yugoslavia)
Control the Balkans (4 cities) and Poland (2 cities) in 1940 (Pan-Slavism, never happened)

By the way, the current Polish 1rst UHV doesn't count the first cities founded but the capitol and two other cities (Whatever I did it counted Krakow which was size 9, and counted 2 other cities which I could change by entering their city interface)

That has been mentioned. Currently it is (for me) the first three cities I settle.

I know, I was just saying that, at least in my game, it counted the Capitol and two other random cities, not the first I settled. Did you try entering one of your cities' interface ? It changed those two other cities in my case.

May have. I was mostly paying attention to the fact that I had a 14, a 13, two twelves and an 8 but it was showing the two twelves and an 8

On a different note: With cities count as improvements it would make sense if a city founded on forest got an initial production boost from it.

I really think something has to be done about the North Africa barbarians. In almost every single 3000 BC game I've played, Carthage and every other city in North Africa past Egypt gets razed well before the Arabian spawn.

Why do some people spell Belgrad (that's how it's pronounced in Russia) as "Beograd"? It it really pronounced as Be-oh-grad?

Replace initial Barbarian Camel Archers with Numidian Mercenaries.

With all these conqueror events and the introduction of the moors, how much barb pressure does Africa still need?

About Russian UHV - Siberian railroad, do we have to settle Moscow for it? I couldn't complete it because I settled 1SE instead of spawn point..

Beograd is the Serbian name, and from how I understand the phonetic transcription it's pronounced Be-o-grad (with a short "o", not the English "oh" sound).

I chose Belgrad as its initial name because that's apparently what the Southern Slavs called it in the Middle Ages.

Yes, you need Moscow. Is 1SE of the spawn also called Moscow? Currently I only check for the right tile, but I should account for all tiles that are called Moscow.

I don't want to be more lenient with this or else people will move their capitals to Siberia or something like that.

Playing Egypt with the newest SVN I'm not able to switch Civs. Is that intended?

You can see how good my Southern Slavic history is. Schools in America don't care except for the Archduke getting murdered.

Sort of, I've temporarily disabled it because the new civs would constantly mess up who can switch to whom.

Mine isn't particularly good, either (I don't think I got into contact with them in school history aside the WW1 issue). I know the Serbs had a medieval kingdom (Stefan Dusan comes to mind), were vassalized and absorbed by the Turks and ... that's it.

So, switching Civs is not possible now? :scared:
When are you going to change that back again? Will I be able to switch Civs in my recent save game when I update the SVN after you re-implemented Civ-switching?

Yes, when the civ additions are done it will come back.

But you probably won't be able to open your save anymore :mischief:

Wurgs
An American or Prussian game takes me about an hour to load -.-

Wait: is it possible to use that ominous cheat with which you can switch Civs per shortcut? Don't really know about this, could anyone please give me a hand on how to do it?

Good news: my CTD does not always happen when entering WB. Something around 1200-1600 is messed up.
Bad news: I still crash when going into WB around that time. Something I typically do not do is messed up (I think).
