Current (SVN) development discussion thread

As always, I will update the additional modules soon after release.

But you might want to take a look into the VD thread because it's not that hard to fix on your own.

... huh?

600 AD Moors campaign, Monarch/Normal: they start with Vassalage as their Organization civic even though they don't have Feudalism researched.

Commit coming soon, including adjusted settler and CNM maps for all civs present in the region of the recent map changes.

The settler maps still need some fine tuning, especially for the Vikings.

Edit: it's online.

New wheat resourse near oil in Russia (in Kazan area) is amazing.
Now is all cityplacing in 600 AD is absolutely different from previous versions.

Meh. Moscow still has no food to speak of.

Compared to Moscow, London has:
- 1 more Sheep
- 1 more Deer
- 1 more Wheat

And yet in reality Moscow is a larger city than London (or New York, Tokyo, Guangzhou, or Delhi) and the 5th largest city in the world, even today.

^ I'm not saying it should have more food resources than London. No city should.

But currently Moscow is one of the worst capital city locations (meaning, tiles a civ spawns on) in the game. It's certainly the worst in Europe. Should that remain the case? Especially given that Russian UHV specifically requires you to settle there? While any city slightly to the south, west, or east (now with the new changes) of it is much better?

Berlin is buffed (several times) because the Prussian UHV requires you to settle there. The same logic applies to Moscow. There is even no need to add resources. Just move the southern Wheat and Iron around a bit so they are in Moscow's BFC.

It's true. I found cities other than Moscow to take better use of the resources available and only (when I'm going for UHV) found a city on the Moscow tile right at the end to connect to the railway.

To me, it felt like you wanted more for Moscow to make it bigger than London to represent the current difference in population. (probably a misinterpretation by me)

I agree that Moscow could get a buff.

I'm currently doing awful things to the city placement AI ...

Haha, not that awful. But certain civs like Byzantium had a web of cities at two tiles distance for a while.

New commit:
- improved settling behavior (Vikings and HRE still have problems though so expect more here)
- minor map and bug fixes
- all civ buttons match their flag and color scheme now
