Custom Maps and Game Speed

So there seems to be an issue with Legendary Earth Mod (see signature). Players report, and I've tested myself, that the game speed you choose in the set up for the map has no effect and the game automatically reverts to the maps "default" speed.

I don't recall this being an issue in the past, has this bug been introduced with G&K? Does anyone have a fix?
