Oh wow, Infected Mushroom!

I absolutely adore Infected Mushroom, probably my favorite artist at the moment. They just have this way of integrating sounds

I'm a classics sort of guy, usually.
[robert miles - children link snipped]
Oh that's a classic for sure. I know i've heard before, but I have zero idea from where or when. One of those songs I've heard long before I adopted the habit of demanding to know what it was when it hit me right. Thanks for bringing it back

Man don't take this the wrong way @Perfection I really made an effort to listen to your shares but I am just too antiquated:old:, I can appreciate the trance and even dance mash fat EDM but once dial up modem sounds are in my brain disconnects. :dunno:The Kraftwerk share is flawless for me though:rockon:Great effort great thread:thumbsup:, I have a lote more shares to listen from you guys.
This was the rage when I was a teen preteen and all anime VHS came with the most anime violent mashup intro to the sound of this:
You despicable troglodyte. How could not immediately fall in love with every youtube link I throw down?

Teasing over, by throwing down that Prodigy track you have clearly established your bona fides for posting in this thread. I tend to enjoy newer stuff because electronic instrumentals were the way I survived the pandemic without murdering anyone. So I do tend towards newer sounds because I mostly got 'em from random spotify and pandora wanderings. but there's an incredible backlog of good stuff that I'm missing out on. So send anything you like here.

I can definitely relate to having aversions to certain sounds. Death growls in metal music took me a very long time to appreciate and most of them i'm still meh on but every once and awhile they hit right. Though I can't say I completely understand what you mean by dial up sounds,

I'll give ya a couple of youtube links I like that i think you might appreciate and if not no worries you can click out the moment you don't like 'em

But this is more... my speed
Wasn't expecting to run across sax, heheh(if I got the right song, it wasn't loading properly)!

I'm going to totally pretend that Infected Mushroom doesn't tickle Yar's Revenge in a good way(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrHUJrhZMJI)

If you want another 20+er, I'll toss one more out. Great thread, Perfy.

Infected Mushroom was my kind of trance back in the late 1990s. One memory is when me and a friend were in 2nd year of our studies at University. We subletted an apartment from graduate students, since we were in a co-op program and were alternating between school-work-school-work-school-work etc terms. They weren't, and we needed a place to stay for the summer, while they had the summer off, but had a year-long lease. This apartment was riiight beside the engineering and math buildings on campus, literally a 5 minute walk. There was also a pub right there and two large plazas with all sorts of stuff. The location was pERFECTion.

Anyhow, when we moved in we decided to throw a party. We invited everybody we knew and blasted some Infected Mushroom in our apartment, with the windows wide open. This was a Friday night so we assumed it was okay, but tbh we were immature youngins so what can you do. We ended up hotboxing the entire building and consume cupious amounts of tequilla, all while Infected Mushroom blasted throughout the apartment complex. These were smaller buildings, with 3-4 stories, maybe 4 or so apartments per floor. 5 or 6 such buildings with benches and other courtyard like conveniences in between these buildings. Infected mushroom could be heard far and wide, all while our building leaked a decent amount of smoke. Our guests migrated between our apartment and the courtyard as they saw fit.

Now that I think back to this, we were kind of jerks to our graduate student neighbours.. but nobody complained. We assumed they were happy to have such an epic party thrown in their midst, but for all we knew they were not very happy with us. I did not notice any grumpy faces or evil stares from our neighbours after this, so perhaps they all needed to unwind a bit on that Friday evening.. or maybe it was a saturday.

Not one of my finest moments, as these days I try to be a lot more courteous to my neighbours. But to be honest, I think back to those days fondly

If you like plaid check out Bonobo

[bonobo embed snipped]
that was tasty

Well since "Bonoibo" does have a _o_o_o format I should probably respond with a Kodomo track

or Wagon Christ

Oh you're infecting my brain good stuff, never heard of em but they're on my radar now

I bet you have heard of Boards of Canada (A Scottish duo), but if not

[boards of canada embed embed snipped]
Well I did respond to Boards of Canada with a 65daysofstatic embed in the favorite shapes thread, so that's definitely a good sigh. I'm sure you've heard Dayvan Cowboy before but I'm sure many people here haven't and I'll post it because it is proper delicious.

Nightmares on Wax deserve a mention

[nightmares on wax embed snipped]
I do already have a Nightmares on Wax song on my spotify likes, specifically this one. They do seem worthy of a deep dive.

And if course since you played "You wish" i better play "i wish" in response, but instead of the infected mushroom classic I throw an aura vortex remix. As far as remixes go it's interesting and at least 75% as good as the OG version so it's a good remix in my view. I gotta bring some FAT EDM beats in this chill electronica response.

In my case I don't think most people expected me to get into this type of music at the time. Right before this I was really into death metal bands like Napalm Death and Sepultura. After my mellow electronica phase I dove into ska and related genres bigtime. I was also into a lot of punk throughout all this. I was kind of all over the place, I guess.
I mean chill electronica definitely goes in that genre category in fact they go so well I better respond napalm death cover of Dead Kennedys that as an American has been especially meaningful lately

That embed is absolutely 1000% in line with the thread mission

More thread responses coming ^^

Copious amounts of tequila eh? That's the sauce for sure

I caught infected mushroom live. Drank a lot and stood in the front center of the dance floor and danced by fiercely pushing up the roof with both arms flared out for like an hour like a warlord

Great thread indeed! I'll try to post some lesser known fat beats
going harder with a bassline focus
and going a little softer with synths and vocals
