LOL, make it into a can of beer.
that sucks cause i dont have a backup
blahh to much work to reskin
Maybe you have it in your TTT mod?
After download, cannot unzip, corrupted
Nope have it no were, gotta redue it
By the way, your luxor hotel is uploaded to Megaupload...
i planned on redoing that one anyway
just checking you saw my requests on the previous page
I tried them all but couldnt do them, well i didnt try them all but the last one i know i can not do as those buildings are impossible for me, way to detailed
The colomn, well the statue at the top is 2D and i can;t make it myself so cant do that
The arch I just couldnt figure out, i dont know why but whenever i converted it to nif one side of the arch got really messed up. I tried that for like an hour and actually it was before you requested it as i wanted to do it as well
edit: also the Castel Sant'Angelo is too detailed as well, as well as it has a 2D statue
btw I dont need the debug DLL anymore, the scenarios started to work for whatever reason
if you want to make more requests ill be more then happy to try them
I gathered you didn't need the debug DLL I have been reading
Can I ask how detail makes a difference to being able to do it? Is it because you need to make a skin that would be too complex? If you tell me how to do it I will try and do Il Duomo myself... I have nifskope and kinda have access to 3dsmax (my friend has it I think)
edit: I took a look at it in sketch up and I see what you mean about complicated texture, maybe the texture could be simplified a lot (as it needs to look good from far zoom...) though I don't know how to do it without a dds. so could you try to make a simple block coloured version (so that I can see which colours relate to which bits of the model...) and I can skin it myself? (this is Il Duomo btw)
Its not actually so much the detail of the skin but the number of different one.
Take this as a random example. The top floor, bottom floor, the wooden flor, two foofs, third circular floor, stairs, siding of stairs, basement floor, roof of third floor. Theres so many different skins. This usually means that the creator of this has a different peice of skin for each part. But when i transfer it into nifskope, it makes the house into one peice, which means it can only connect to one dds. And i dont have the skill to completely do a new skin, I just dont know how to do that yet.
Now take my "Trump World Tower" i have done for another example. It is so simple, each side of the building in the save thing. The only difference is the roof, which i can get away with by duplicating the whole tower, making it a bit skinnier, and push it up toward the top, so really most of my skyscrapers have two buildings in it, one skinned as a roof and one as the side. This is why i do a lot of skyscrapers because they are easily easily skinned.
Third example, chrysler tower. This is usually a hard one because when a skyscraper is that odly shaped, they usually have different skins. But i got lucky and it was an amazingly made model that the person put the skins together themselfes already.
Other models are just bad and can not be converted to nif, or they are to big. 2D statues cant be converted because they will be surrounded by a white square.
I could do like you said just one texture, but it isnt going to look good. Everything will look like one section of the thing, including the roof etc.
hmmm, I wonder if any one else on the forums knows how to create skins, then we could just hvae the raw nifskope model then have a skin made, saibotlieh might know, will have to ask him at some point
hes really busy, i work with HROCHland here and there, as hes the best building maker on the website i beleive since he makes everything from scratch. I sent him a model and all the skins for Indepedence hall and hes going to give it back to me skinned when hes finished. Hes the best skinner i know of, while saibotlieh is more art all around I(animations etc)
Have you been able to try out any of those futuristic nifs from earlier, or do they mostly have too difficult textures/meshes etc?
I searched out some other models on google warehouse trying to find ones that don't seem too complicated. (I don't expect you can do all of these of course, but if you find some you're interested to do we'd appreciate it!)

I have tried to skin things myself (with mixed results being not a good artist ) and its possible to learn but difficult. Basically if the whole nif uses one dds skin, you can try editing the dds with GIMP or Photoshop in one window, while you're viewing and reloading the skinned nif in nifskope to see what area of the nif you're skinning. If you can paste bits of photo texture onto the exact right parts of the dds you can get a good result, but for complex nifs its true this take a lot of concentration and can be hard to get to look good.
I did do the spheres for you
It comes with a bunch of dds and pictures. I kept the pictures that way you can easily see what it is, and you dont gotta open every dds
Name wichever skin you want to "planet_e.dds" and it will show up on the sphere
I guess I will send it to him then!
right ok! Can you convert the Duomo to a civ compatible nif so that HROCHland can skin it? I think he says he could so untill I have a definate answer I think it would be safe to have the model ready
Thanks for your time
sure, dont got a lot of time but i think i can do it in the weekend. HROCHland is much better then me at art so he has to do a lot of editing with the model so it takes him a bit
Maybe you could make a Nemeton. Try to include a sacred grove.
btw cancel the conversion lol. HROCHland is actually gonna make it from scratch
