I shall nominate myself.
OK, sorry to pick on you Remake, but I need to ask these questions:
How will you make sure we are ready for war at all times?
I anticipate having mobile stacks of catapults and horse archers to counter any large stacks sent our way. Axes and Spears will be more of a backup force, since they aren't as mobile, and can't kill off large stacks of seige weapons unlike HAs.
How will you make sure we invade a team with unstoppable force if it is the Interior minister who controls the cities (at the discretion of the team)
I trust the interior minister will supply the army with sufficient troops to successfully wage war. Our attack force would involve 50% catapults, with 30% axes, and a mix of horse archers, swords and spears depending on the defender's resources and actual units.
How will you make sure we have lots of explorers, and a good overview of the map?[/list]
As barbarians are on, it will likely be difficult for the true 2 move units to move around safely. However, Woodsman II Axes and (maybe) Guerilla II Archhers should be able to get around fast without facing too much of a threat from barbarians.
The 2 biggest jobs for the Diamyo of War (for now) will be directing the naming of units and guiding discussion of exploration.
I'd really like to hear any candidate's thoughts on how to handle these 2 items in particular.
Unit names could be either just for flavour, or they could be descriptive. If we choose flavour, things could get confusing, but descriptive could give more information to our rivals than they would otherwise have.
With exploration, I anticipate our current warrior to attempt to circle around the mountain range. Quick question, how long do we have before the barbarians start appearing, and how much longer after that do we have until they start targeting cities? I think it's important we know how open the land to the east is, so we can prepare adequately for the barbarians, as to the west we have a nice corridor that should be fairly easy to protect.
Remember, the Diamyo doesn't get to make these decisions unilaterally – just help to organize the discussion, solicit opinion, settle any cases where the team can't seem to agree, and post orders for the Shogun.
Sounds good!
