I came home from work after a busy day. I decided to throw a pizza in the oven, then post on CFC a little to pass the time.

All of the sudden, I smell smoke.
Immeadiately I know what it is:

Once again I have burnt up my dinner while posting on this damn forum!!!:flamedevi

Happens every time. I plan on quitting after just a few posts, and get sucked in for hours. I may need to seek professional help.;)

Am I the only addict here, or does this happen to other people?

I'm that way at work. Which is bad, because I am starting to believe the ratio of work to CFC is approximately 1:3. It used to be about 1:2.5, but then I started to get my ass kicked on two of my four ongoing diplomacy games, and lost one entirely. Fewer units means less time writing orders! Happily, the Civfanatics game is not going so badly...

Hehe, glad I am not the only one... though I have never burnt anything... :) I leave food on the counter all the time! It gets really cold, and I have to reheat it. I then forget it again, go to sleep, and find that my cat is licking it all up!

I can never get off when I want to... I keep telling myself "only post in the Succesion Game... and maybe Word A..." but that turns to "Hmm, maybe I will post in the Democracy Game for a bit... and how about 'AI sucks-thread 324'..., and what about..."

CFC has runied my life! Damn you!;) :)

Hey Joe,
I will type this slow,
on the oven,
there is a timer.

Something happened with my browser, and I couldn't post for 5 hours. (Now this next bit is why my addiction is worse) I lost all motivation to communicate using speech! I walked around the house for an hour and a half, making strange noises, looking for a sledgehammer to "fix" my computer.

You know, most ovens have this really convenient feature called a timer...;)

Well, I've never forgotten anything important because of CFC. I've only been dumped twice for "neglect" and my dog has pulled a few overnighters in my back yard. After 3 weeks, I tracked down the girl scout and paid her for the cookies. I haven't been fired, just threatened 3 times for being late and I only miss about 6 hours of sleep a night just reading about on CFC. Nothing REALLY important... :D

Solution- Get rid of the cat. Spend time you usually spend on "cat maintainence" on CFC. Problem solved. :king: ;)

Hey, I'm dropping in at 0314 Sunday morning (ie: after Saturday night), rather worse for wear, and I'm what could be described as a fanatic.
I gotta learn how to sleep...

Now, the worst internet junkies I know never butn their frozen pizza. They just take it out of the frezzer and eat pizza popsicles in front of the 'puter.
:p

I agree with Joe. Ever since I discovered the Colosseum at CFC (especially the off-topic and world history forums) I have probably spent more time in the forums than actually playing civ3!

The result is that now I spend practically all of day-time and evenings in the forums, waiting for replies, but do work at night and early in the morning - sometimes until 5:30am, leaving with only 4 hours of sleep! No wonder I fall asleep in lectures!

However a lot of blame receive the long turns in Civ3 - my turn lasts about 5 min, and then I wait for half-an-hour for AI turn, so during that time I have nothing to do other than hang around in the forums, waiting to read more of the succession games or for replies to my posts in the Colosseum! :D

The site should be renamed CAC, CivAddictsCenter :)

What have I gotten myself into? I find myself coming here all the time. Doesnt help that I am currently unemployed, eh? less than a month I've been here and already i'm addicted. Oh well. What can I do now that i've discovered off topic. Maybe I need a vacation?:D

I post when I shld be working.... :p So ain't missing all that much on food and sleep and other modern amenities and conveniences and bodily functions.

But have to admit, the forums are damn addictive. Esp when you know quite a few people. Can't recall the no of times when I see some userid I know in the 'who's online' space in the mainpage and then hang round just 'a bit longer' and see what he's gonna post.....

Esp you, joe. Damn you! :D :p

That's why I use invisible mode, it helps people get on with their lives instead of waiting for me to post... but I highly doubt anyone waits for me to post... not that it matters...:)

Everybody- I have a plan! At 5 PM GMT We are to hold a feast and a nap! Yes, you must be off the forums, to eat and sleep. Moderators will persecute all who do not comply :satan:
