Defeated by 2 missionaries??

I was playing Russia vs 1 AI bot who was Japan. At @ move120 i saw 2 of his (I think) missionaries moving to my 2 cities. The first one enterd Novogard. As soon as the second entered my capital i was defeated....but didn't say why.

How can I protect against that in the future?

turn off religious victory in a 1v1 or deffend against religion with one of your own.

A religious victory is where a player's religion is the majority religion in all civilisations. Japan's religion was the majority religion in their own country, and yours, meaning that they won a religious victory.
