I'm a semi-new Civ II player, and I'm playing as the Zulu in Prince difficulty. The problem is, I keep getting attacked and dropped by transports by the Aztecs on the west side of Africa. What is a good way to prevent them from attacking my coastal cities and dropping units on the continent?

1) Build coastal fortresses in your cities
2) Build some good naval units and attack their transports
3) Build your own cities where they try to land
4) Have some diplos two or three tiles from the coast away and bribe their cities/units
5)Attack them on their own territory!

these are all good ideas

I think it would be to send a fleet to their territory and destroy their ship there. Maybe you can pay an other Civ to declare war on them, so the Aztecs must split their forces.

I would blockade their ports (or as many as I could manage to cover without spreading my forces too thin) if I had troubles elsewhere or did not have the resources to invade and silence the infadels. But, that is just what I would do in that situation. Otherwise, just go with what sethos said.

Typically, when faced with this sort of situation, I either launch a counterinvasion (like in sethos' number 5 option) or, if possible, build up a large fleet with which I can pretty much dominate the high seas around my territory and possibly around theirs too. While others may disagree with me on this issue, I find Carriers highly useful for ocean patrols.

Very techinal sometimes, but yes, carriers would work.

I usually have hard times when my enemies start to send attacks by sea. But I quickly make my defense.

Here´s the thing: You must build some Fighters inside the coastal cities and the other cities nearby. Then produce a few ships and Sentry them on high sea. When enemy vessels bypass yours, you know where they are. Time to send airplanes. Bomb and destroy all enemy vessels before they reach the coast.

Normally I just take a few units and position teh m to ambsuh my enemy. OR you could as said before, take it to them.
