Defending nukes

Is there anyway to defend against nukes beside bomb shelters I kind of am getting annoyed Bc every game I play whoever is able to build nukes first usually wins due to the m destroying major cities. Are antiaircraft effective against them or do they never work
And u should always use nukes before they are used on u

Use search function this was discussed a lot. Not much you can do, some AIs love to nuke ppl. Pillage their uranium resources.

And do what they do in real world, fight back with same force if you have to - nuke them back if it comes to that.
