I just got Civ 5 yesterday and was able to run it on high in the ancient era but, after I discovered more land my pc eventually started slowing down on the game I lowered my graphics and was able to play it smoothly should I update my drivers or is it this game?

My pc specs:

Processor: I7 920 2.66 GHZ

Graphic card: EVGA GTX 260 216 shaders

RAM: 9GB

Hard Drive: 155GB free on C drive 548GB on D drive

OS: Win 7 64bit

I thought my pc would run this on high all the way through the game.

Civilization runs very poorly on DX10 cards, it seems. Try the driver update, but even with the latest beta driver it's a bit choppy with my 260-216, too :(

You should always update your drivers. In this case i've heard that people trying the nvidia betas get better performance.

Ok thanks for the replies I'm downloading the newest drivers right now I haven't updated them in a while because when I updated to the one I'm using right now that fixed my Civ 4 problem so maybe this one will help my Civ 5.
