Demigod difference, or RNG issue?

I tend to play Monarch and Emperor. C3C. I started 4 or 5 random Demigod-level games yesterday, and in the 3 that had acceptable enough starts that I started playing them, all 3 were extremely crowded. I believe one was standard size, one large, and one huge. In all 3, I encountered 3 different other civs within the first 10 or 15 turns. In the large one, I met 5 civs within, I guess, 20 turns. IME, this is HIGHLY unusual at Monarch and Emperor level. Is it common at Demigod, or just RNG weirdness?

In Demigod, civs tend to have an average of 5-6 cities by the time you have 2... so no it isnt unusual = ) its common

It is because the AI starts with an extra settler and worker at DG.

Pay attention to the fact that you're meeting more civs that are larger, not more civs of the same size. DG AIs get lots of bonuses, as stated above, and thus meet you sooner.
