Democratic/Republican Vice Presidential predictions

I predict that Bill Richardson will be the Vice Presidential nominee for the democrats

Mike Huckabee will be the Vice Presidential nominee for the Republicans.

It all depends on the party's nominee. Gov. Richardson would be Senator Clinton's running mate, but probably not anybody else's.

I don't think anyone currently running for president on the GOP ticket will get the VP nod.

Hmm... idk, I think Huckabee is an excellent choice for VP. He will get Rudy the Adulterer and Mitt the Mormon some more votes with Christian conservatives.

Presidential nominees to the left, VP's to the right:

Democrats:
Clinton/Richardson
Obama/??(NOT Hillary, probably not someone currently running for president)

Republicans:
Giuliani/Thompson
Romney/Huckabee
Huckabee/?? (Maybe McCain, or more likely someone who isn't a presidential candidate now)
Thompson/(someone who isn't a presidential candidate now)
McCain/(someone who isn't a presidential candidate now)

The vice presidency is about the most useless position in our government to hold. They are only there if the president dies.

Ted Strickland is a name thats been tossed around by Democrats

Hmm... seems like a good pick. Would certainly help the dems in Ohio, considering his popularity in the state. Idk, I still predict Richardson though, he is a very accomplished statesmen, and would steal some Hispanic votes from the republicans.

Yea, but the title "President" is in the title, so people think it is important for things outside of Presidential succession. Then again, Dick Cheney is the most powerful Vice President in American history, but I think he is the exception, not the new rule.

Actually, the Columbus Dispatch did a poll about 2 weeks ago that showed the exact opposite. We'd prefer him to be our Gov...he hasnt gotten a chance to fix everything yet.

I think its too soon for him, but it is a name that I hear with Hillary

True, he only took office this year, didn't he?

Though I did use him as part of a potential strategy if Bill Richardson were the nominee. But I must be going out into fantasy land at this point. :(

Nah, I think he's the new rule.

Like it or not, the government in general and the executive branch in particular have a lot more to do now than they did years ago, and the VP has to step up and "round out" the administration.

I think Gov. Richardson would probably be a "strong" VP.

For the Republicans:
Huckabee/Rommey

For the Democrats
Hillary/Edwards

Idk, If a Totalitarian-esque person like Rudy or Hillary got into office, then yes. If an Obama or a Ron Paul got in, the Vice Presidency will go back to its useless role.

Yeah, he's really new. He started in 2007.
I'm a real big fan of the guy, and did a little campaign work for him in Licking County. I think he'll make a great gov...but i'd like to give him time to address the real reason he's here (State school funding crisis)

Yes, because Edwards would be just thrilled to run for VP with an unattractive candidate again.
Well I am plumb out of choices for the Democrats. I mean, they have a lousy choices other than Hillary :cringe: and Obama.
