In the Demographics of our game it has shown that we are #1 in land area but 12th in Military Service. That's something we must work on especialy getting into the Industrial Age. I'm bringing this out to show that we realy need more territory and cities for military support and attacking America is the best way to do it.

military service does not equal number of units. In a game ive played ive ammased over 1000 units and still get miltary service 1 year

My experience has shown me that "military service" is a rather pointless Demographic, more there for fun then a true measure of superiority.

I think it has to do with population in related to the number of military units, and remember we have ALOT of territory and a large population, and a Decent army, which can contribute together to make such a low number.

im not going by the years, im going by the ranking with all the other civs. The demograpics are very accurate.

Falcon02, you are completely making my point. We have a very large amount of territory, that's why we are number 1, but we have a "decent" army, that's why we are 12th.

Amirsan: Military service has nothing to do with amount of units.
Quote the academy:
Military Service: 10 years * # of military units / # of citizens. Military units are units with an attack and defense value, so workers, scouts and princesses don't count. Kings do. So at the start of a mass regicide game you will have a military service of 70 years because of the 7 military units *10 years divided by just your 1 citizen. 0 years if you have no army or you have just a few units, but thousands of population points.
This meaning it has nothing to do with military size.

We still have to improve our Demographics, even if it is not the military sevice (even though I still think it counts for something).

I don't want to be the #1 in Military Service. I want to have a good army and use it eficiently.

We must pay attention with GNP (economy) and Production (industry). We need to be the #1 in both criterias.

Military service isn't pointless, it's just that the way that stat is generated makes it difficult to change and sort of pointless compared to the other rankings.

Amirsan,

I don't pay attention with Military Service stat because it represents the effort (comparing to your population size) of you military power.

USA, for example, don't have a big military service but have a great Military power. I want a strategy like this.

To be the greatest economy and industry of the world. So big, that a strong military power does not represents a big effort to our nation.

I don't wat to be #1 in pollution too.

We are the most powerful nation, and I think we all want to stay as the most powerful nation and using the demographics can help us to realize where we are every once in a while.
