In the vein of this thread for full-blown Civs, I wanted to see what people wanted to see out of new ideas for City-State ideas. Considering how much more unique City-States are in Civ VI, with the icons, new type, and Suzerain bonuses, I think it might be a good idea for a thread.

Here are a couple to start things off:

Andorra la Vella - Militaristic
Icon - The arms of the Bishop of Urgell
Suzerain Bonus - Trade Routes to Andorra cannot be pillaged and do not count toward the total number of Trade Routes. (reflecting its protection by Spain/France, and its status as a tax haven)

Halifax - Trade
Icon - The Haligonian kingfisher
Suzerain Bonus - Transcontinental, Naval Trader units gain +3 Gold to their Trade Routes. (reflecting its position as a Maritime hub and Canadian commerce centre)

Iqaluit - Scientific
Icon - Stylized inuksuk
Suzerain Bonus - Permanently gain +1 Science or Culture in your Capital for every Eureka or Inspiration gained while Sovereign. (reflecting the unacknowledged Inuit contributions to Canadian culture)

Kingston - Militaristic
Icon - The stylized cupola visible here
Suzerain Bonus - Newly constructed units receive +1 experience for every Fort in your empire. (reflecting its well-preserved Martello towers, and being the home of Canada's only military academy)

Montreal - Cultural
Icon - Fleur-de-lys
Suzerain Bonus - Gain +1 Amenity in each city for each Trader unit starting in the same city. (reflecting its cultural prominence and trade history)

Skidegate - Militaristic
Icon - The Formline eye pictured here
Suzerain Bonus - All Quarries in your empire produce +2 Culture. (reflecting the presence of argillite carving in modern Haida art)

Königsberg (Teutonic Order) - Religious/Military (Could Go Either way)
Icon - Seal of the Teutonic Order
Suzerain Bonus - If at War with a Nation not of the Same Faith as you, will Automatically Levy Troops (The Teutonic Order was a Crusader State from the lesser known Northern Crusades. They were territories taken by Christians and taken to solidify the Christian Faith in those Lands.)

Syracuse (Syracuse) - Scientific
Icon - Trinacria as Depicted on the Sicilian Flag
Suzerain Bonus - All Scientific Eurekas give 66% Bonus. (mirroring the origin of the term's Fame, Archenemies' Bathtime realization on Buoyancy as well as his many other contributions to Ancient Science.)

Well, here goes.

Kuala Lumpur
Cultural City-State
Icon: The Federal Star or a stylised tiger's head
Bonus: All Commercial Hub and Harbour buildings generate 1 Culture.

Singapore
Industrial City-State
Icon: Stylised lion's head (different from Jerusalem) or five stars
Bonus: Each Industrial Zone building boosts production of Aircraft units in its home city by 10%.

Chaco Canyon - Cultural (world heritage site and national park)
Symbol - Circle divided into quadrants, with a dot in each quadrant (flag of the Hopi, descendants of the Puebloans)
Unique Sovereign Bonus - Allows Civ to build the "Cliff Dwelling" improvement.
Cliff Dwelling - Must be built adjacent to mountains. Provides +1 housing and a defensive bonus on the tile. Gives +1 food if adjacent to a farm

Taipei - Industrial (one of the Four Asian Tigers)
Symbol - Sun symbol of the Kuomintang
Unique Sovereign Bonus - Trade routes to Taipei provide additional Science (export economy + tech giant)

Vancouver - Mercantile (to make it easier to use the symbol)
Symbol - Waves just like the Lisbon CS has (Vancouver flag). Just use it once Portugal becomes a Civ
Unique Sovereign Bonus - Tiles in or adjacent to a Commercial Hub get +1 appeal (Vancouver is consistently rated one of the most livable cities in the world. This ability will generate Tourism and Housing, and attaching it to Commercial Hubs gives you some control over where to use it)

Rhodes - Military (Knights of Saint John)
Symbol - White cross on Red (Red is the color of the Military CS, and also White cross on Red is the Knights' flag. The cross of Malta is used for Valetta, their new base after losing Rhodes)
Unique Sovereign Bonus - Naval trade routes cannot be pillaged (this was Lisbon's ability, so it might as well get reused. The Knights fought the Berber pirates and most people will think this bonus is intuitive due to the Colossus)
