Hello fellow civ4 fanatics I have the civilization gold edition and this is my first time posting on these forums.

I've found many others with the same error that I have but haven't found a solution that works for me. Well I play the game and then minutes into playing, my game will crash and I will get the following error: "Failed to allocate Video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\Source\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9VBManager.cpp, Line:1019".

I have tried lowering all my settings to their lowest as well as switching to windowed mode but this only delays the error slightly. My video card drivers are fully updated and my game is patched to the latest version, this error also happens on the warlords expansion. DirectX is also updated.

The following are my system specs.

CPU:Intel core Dual (1.6Giga Hertz)
Total system Ram: 1024MB (1GB)
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 2400 series (Total memory size: 512mb)
Sound card: Realtek High definition audio
Operating system: Windows XP

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated

here are the dxdiag results
