Destroyed by Demons

I'm chugging along, exploring the map. It's early game and I've built three warriors. I end my turn, and bam, I've lost the game. Out of nowhere, no warning. I look in the history and it tells me my city was destroyed by demons. When I replayed the turn I did notice a lich wandering by, but it wasn't even in my territory yet, and my city had a radius of two.

Is this normal?

Sounds like you got a fully powered up lich. It happens. And yeah, 3 warriors is about the max it can insta-splatter.

This is among the reasons I leave combat animations on for defence, and only off for offence. So I know wtfh happened.

fyi, said liches are REALLY rare.

Well, I guess I just got lucky...

And that's just thing thing, I have combat animations on, but there were no animations, nothing. All that it showed was my city reduced to ruins. And my city wasn't at population 1 either. I think it had at least three or four population at the time.
