Have you experienced that too, when you destroy (or create)certain improvements (or overlays in general) it causes you to wait terribly long each time?
Examples:
-destruction of roads/rails by bombardment
-destruction of trade-related city-improvements (port, airport)
-nuking a city (creation of pollution and destruction of some of the existing terrain improvements) -> that takes each time terribly long
That is very annoying. Is that a common problem? Has anyone solved it?
