My sons is doing Civ 6 ESprts through his school- they use Vanta https://www.vanta.gg/
He (15m) and I (old AF) have been playing Civ since he could move a mouse. I would consider us pretty good- and he was dominating his first 5-6 opponents with sub 50 turn religious victories. For the Esports version, its 1:1 duel, with base game only no mods, 100 turn limit- and each player gets to ban 3 leaders. Its on a small pangea map (or is it tiny?).
However he played a guy who was either a LOT better than him or a player who may be cheating. By turn 40 he had tons of troops, knights and was just overwhelming my son- also they started VERY close to eachother in a way that was suspect. Like thier capitals were 12 tiles away- where they are generally much further.
In what ways could we detect if he was cheating. He was the host-
The ways I was thinking he might have been cheating-
He appeared to have perfect map vision- always knew where stuff was and was able to move his guys around our scouts or went towards our units that he should have no vision
The map was high suspect- could he have altered it or just chosen the 'random seed' until he got one he liked and had pre-knowledge?
His units looked to be healing 2x or 3x a turn, he played Spain the first game, and then Harald the 2nd- but I would see green health numbers pop up 2x on his guys when I was watching them
He was also rushing religion- but was somehow able to out faith us and out produce our religion units- and ALSO produce so much more troops and his cities looked far more built out.
I'm thinking we will stream our next game, and record it- and I'll post it for people on the internet to watch because that would for sure help us know what he is doing to be so much better- Hopefully when we replay him, we are host and we don't have to deal with this.
